Malta is the charming country in the Mediterranean that hides treasures at almost every corner. Wether if it's a beach with crystal clear, blue water, lovely architecture or even miracle events, these little islands, located just South of the Italian coast, have it all. We flew from Lisbon with a direct flight, operated by Air Malta and arrived already at night. Visiting the islands at the end of September - beginning of October, we went overly confident that weather will be
Mahé is the biggest island of the Seychelles, covering around 150km2. At its North-East side is the capital Victoria (named after Queen Victoria in 1838) - one of the smallest capital in the world. The island of Mahé is home to almost 90% of country's population, which originates from Africa, India, China and Europe - over the years, Seychelles have been both a French and a British colony. However, we chose not to stay in the capital. Seychelles are known for their amazing be
We got a super early flight from Lisbon to Madeira island and picked our rent-a-car directly at the airport on arrival. Having a car is essential when exploring the island, although it's not extensively big (it's only 57 km long and 22 km wide). It is however, very mountainous and full of tunnels - it's soon expected to reach 70 km in tunnels. Madeira archipelago is made of 4 islands - Madeira, Porto Santo, Desertas and Selvagens. Only the first two are inhabited. It was Port
One of my most favourite views is seeing the sun rising (or falling down) from high above the clouds. This is indeed how my day started on our way to Santorini. Yes, it was a pain in the butt to leave the hotel in Athens at 4 a.m. but this view made me completely forget about it. When approaching Santorini's airport I didn't see any of its high-cliffs-coast and picture-perfect white houses, so I felt a bit of a disappointment. For a moment I really thought that the image of S
It was definitely nice spending a day in Sihanoukville and blending with the locals as they enjoy life at its fullest, but our real beach vacation was waiting for us one boat trip away. We were going to Koh Rong island - a magical, quite place with white sand and crystal clear sea water.
The transfer boat would leave at Port 65 in Sihanoukville. The night before we've arranged a tuk-tuk driver to pick us up at the hotel and to take us there. He guaranteed he knows the port.
After seeing the messy and chaotic part of Thailand, it was time to enjoy the well-organized resortish part of it. At least this is what we thought. Ok, I admit that we haven't spent much time researching what we will really find on our trip to Phuket. What we were expecting was some kind of a mix between paradise lonely beaches, luxury resorts, british-kind of organisation on the streets (no idea why!) and high class nightlife. What we actually found was not so different fro
After having a great time in Macau we flew to Philippines, On arrival at Virac Airport we took a tricicle for around 30 minutes trip to a small port to take a boat to Caramoan. The trip by boat took around 20 minutes to reach the Tugawe Cove Resort. Approaching the bay of the resort we were not able to see that there was actually something but natural forest. Just a few meters from the sand we got to see the roofs of the bungalows. Amazing! There was a lagoon with sweet water
So, after we enjoyed the cold and rainy weather in Hong Kong we took a ferry to Macau. Suprisingly (for us at least) the ferries were at every 15 minutes and the trip takes around an hour (and there is no need to take a pill for sea sickness). Macau consists of peninsula of Macau plus Taipa and Coloane islands. Nowadays these two islands are already one same island. This is the explanation of the answer a person from Macau gave us last year on the International Tourism Fair,
